things I will remember from ablaze camp
1. how all the girls and occasionally a few guys from CB1 call me Jazzy: I cannot remember where the nickname came from (I think it started from jazibelle hahaha) but the way everyone, be it church or school or both my sisters call me Jazzy, whether they are close to me or not is rather amusing! does have a sense of closeness- cute pet names cute pet names
2. GAMES: because for the first time I participated my heart out,,,,, really hate balls really really do. am pretty thankful for the sporty guys from North in my group though the basketball game was madly intense and all danielle and i did was laugh at how useless we were at the back of the court, and then save the ball from going out of court. new friends are the best!!!!!
3. the epic, refreshing, living rain God gave us on the 3rd day of camp: we were supposed to release balloons with what our dreams for ablaze are at the rooftop field, and when we all ran into the field the unsuspecting sky started pouring its clouds out. some people retreated back to the grand stand but crazy others (like the entire central) ran straight into the rain, and we were all soaked like vegetables. most insane, impractical, unplanned ways for us to remember events - this is our God!!!!! : ) truly living rain
4. a debate with danielle: hope you learned as much as I did from it!!! love you dear girl excited, really excited to see what God has in store for you :D
5. we do not need as much sleep as we think we do: 3rd day of camp and I only slept 1/2 an hour (in the sports hall which was a giant mistake because I got hit by a frisbee and a ball) I can't even remember what I spent the night doing haha, had extended worship then meetings here and then, the most memorable one was by the super exhausted shingyang who decided to lie on the floor and speak and 10 minutes later everyone fell asleep but it was so hilarious!!! so i had a grand total of 7 hours of sleep during the whole camp but there was never a point of time where I felt extremely fatigued or anything, energy from God above!
6. paula: first time this friend of mine came for camp, and I am so thankful for her really in so many ways
7. a friend, won't know how to judge whether you're old or new: who's simple greeting while I was clearing his table during camp really touched me, partly cause we haven't really spoken in so long! his dance techniques are improving like crazy since the first time I saw him dance, thank God for his life really! HD movement is an amazing ministry
8. singing set a fire + your love is so big mashup with paula and rachel: then we sang set a fire during worship an hour later
9. christine: who spoke words of truth into my life
10. jared: who spoke more words of truth into my life. and also for making me laugh and sharing food during 2nd day sermon
11. housekeeping team: okay first time I took up such a committed ministry to serve in for camp, and it was fulfilling cleaning tables and sweeping floors : ) plus we cleared up the sports hall at 5am. power
12. camp in six words: "This camp changed my sleep cycle" - Marcus hahahahaha
13. quoted from a brother who was grown so much too!!!!: "as for me and my lifegroup, we will serve the Lord'
"As I stood amongst my lifegroup members in camp, I saw a sea of determined faces, warriors and fighters. All ready to fight and lay down everything. And so Im here today to say I leave everything into his hands. Im ready to fight for his kingdom together with them. I want to make a change and be a part of the whole building process. Im a hundred percent certain I want to do this, because a year from now it will matter. If its about God it always will. Its not going to be easy, because its worthwhile. But we wont give up. There’s a riddle in the movie inception that goes “You’re waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you don’t know for sure. But it doesn’t matter. How can it not matter to you where that train will take you?” My answer to that question today is that it doesn’t matter because theres a reason and a purpose for wherever you go, and you can always make a change or do something with wherever your destination is. So this four days really set my heart ablaze. Who cares if we stank and were sweaty. Who cares we all had an average of three hours of sleep per day. Who cares if we all fell sick in the end. It was all worth it in the end. We went through this as one community and we will go through many more together. Here’s to the fighters, the crazy rebels, the ones who are willing to make a change, Heres to central. This is it, I’ve already plunged headfirst into the cold and crazy waters. I had that second of insane courage. No turning back." - danielle
thanks G
